The client

Who Is Retro Revival Jewels?

Retro Revival Jewels (retrorevivaljewels.com) is an online jewelry store run on Shopify from Clearwater, Florida. During the project it sold and shipped within the United States only.

The store already had a contact page, a shipping policy and a returns policy when it came to us. Our job was to check whether those pages were complete, usable and consistent with checkout and with the Merchant Center settings, because Merchant Center expects the shipping, returns and contact details in the account to match the website.

The problem

What Needed Fixing Before the Review?

The pages existed. What they said was the problem. Our audit on September 18 listed 13 areas to fix across the website, checkout and Merchant Center. These are our findings, not reasons Google gave: Google named no cause.

  • Shipping details were incomplete. The policy did not spell out processing time, transit time, the delivery window and the cost.
  • Business details changed from page to page. The footer, the contact page and the policies showed the business and its support hours differently.
  • Phone and email were plain text. Visitors could not tap them to call or write.
  • The support link in Merchant Center went to the homepage, not to the contact page.
  • The returns link in Merchant Center pointed to a different policy from the one linked on the website.
  • Payment information and the business description needed to say more, more clearly.
  • Shopify sync and the Merchant Center shipping settings had to be checked against the setup the store intended.
  • The order tracking page needed work, more for the visitor's sake than for the review.

The timeline

How Did the Account Go From Flagged to Approved?

In four moves: write every issue down, get the facts from the owner, finish the fixes, then prepare the review.

Where the dates come from

Every date comes from our project record with the store. October 3 is the date of Google's approval email.

  1. September 18, 2026

    The audit

We reviewed business identity, contact details, shipping, returns, payment information, site content and the Merchant Center settings as one connected review, and documented 13 areas to fix.

  2. September 23, 2026

    The facts from the owner

The owner confirmed the processing schedule, carrier transit estimates, the flat shipping rate and US-only delivery. The shipping details were written from those answers, not from a policy template.

  3. October 1, 2026

    The fixes are done

The compliance work on the website and in Merchant Center was complete.

  4. October 2, 2026

    The review

We walked the owner through the review options in Merchant Center, step by step.

  5. October 3, 2026

    Approved

Google approved the account. Its email said the Misrepresentation issue was no longer showing.

The work

What Did the Work Cover?

The website, the checkout and the Merchant Center account, treated as one job. A fix in one place that left a conflict in another would not count.

Website and Account Audit

  • Business identity, contact, shipping, returns and payment checked together
  • Checkout compared with the written policies
  • Merchant Center settings compared with the website
  • 13 areas to fix written down before any change

Business and Support Details

  • Business details aligned across the footer, contact page and policies
  • Support hours stated the same way everywhere
  • Easier ways to call or email the store
  • The Merchant Center support link checked against the contact page

Shipping and Returns

  • Shipping written from the owner's real schedule
  • Processing time, transit time and cost stated plainly
  • US-only delivery stated
  • The Merchant Center returns link checked against the website policy

Review Preparation

  • Review prepared after the compliance work was complete
  • The owner guided through the review options
  • Approval recorded on October 3, 2026

The result

Merchant Center Approved on October 3, 2026

Google approved the Retro Revival Jewels account on October 3, 2026, and its confirmation email said the Misrepresentation issue was no longer showing. The approval came after the compliance work was complete, not before.

  • Business details that changed from page to page

After Logical Gecko

  • Misrepresentation issue no longer showing, per Google's email
  • Shipping details written from the store's real schedule
  • All 13 audit areas worked through before the review
What this result shows, and what it does not

It shows a dated account approval. It does not show a product count, Google Ads results, sales or the account's status today. Google makes every review decision.

Key lessons

What Can Other Stores Learn From This?

Three checks from this account that apply to any store with a Misrepresentation flag. Our Merchant Center misrepresentation fix guide has the full list.

01

Read the policy, not the page title

A shipping policy can exist and still leave out processing time, transit time and cost. The audit judged what each page said, not whether the link was there.

02

Ask the owner before rewriting

We asked for the real processing schedule, carrier times and shipping area before changing a word. A policy copied from a template can promise things the store does not do.

03

Check the links inside Merchant Center

Two account links pointed to the wrong pages: support went to the homepage and returns to a different policy. The website can be right while the account still points somewhere else.

FAQ

Questions About This Result

How did Retro Revival Jewels fix its Merchant Center Misrepresentation issue?

We audited the Shopify store and the Merchant Center account on September 18, 2026 and listed 13 areas to fix, from shipping details with no processing or transit times to account links that pointed to the wrong pages. The owner confirmed the real shipping facts, the compliance work was complete by October 1, and Google approved the account on October 3, 2026.

Did Google say what caused the Misrepresentation issue?

No. The 13 items are our audit findings, and some of them only made the store easier to use. Google named no root cause, and its approval email said only that the Misrepresentation issue was no longer showing.

Was the Retro Revival Jewels store redesigned?

No. The work changed what the existing pages said and how the Merchant Center account was set up. There was no redesign.

Does Merchant Center approval mean Google Ads campaigns are running?

No. Merchant Center account approval, product approval, Google Ads status and campaign results are separate. This case study reports the account approval only. Our guide to Google Ads vs Merchant Center misrepresentation explains the difference.

Can you check my suspended Merchant Center account?

Yes. Send us the suspension notice and your store URL. We audit the store and the account and tell you whether we found what is causing the suspension, with one or two of the issues explained. The full fix comes with the recovery.
